Raiders Sports Club

In 1984, the Raiders Sports Club was founded by local families in the Red Hook Central School District.
In 1991, concerned parents organized to form "Save Our Sports." The goal of this group was to raise the necessary funds to continue the interscholastic athletics program for the school year 1991-1992. The taxpayers had defeated the school budget. The Board of Education, in order to reduce the budget and make it more acceptable to the voting public, eliminated interscholastic athletics from the budget. The Board of Education had no choice in this matter. At that time, interscholastic athletics could not be included in a contingency budget, which is the term for a school budget put up for a subsequent vote. Therefore, "Save Our Sports"; had to raise the necessary funds to include interscholastic athletics in the school program. In the 1992-1993 school year, the group was again faced with the same task of raising the funds needed to keep interscholastic athletics operational for student athletes in RHCD.
During the mid 90s, the Raiders Sports Club and Save Our Sports
merged. Today, the club is a non-profit booster club for all sports and student athletes in RHCSD.
